About Texas Conservation Corps

The Texas Conservation Corps (TxCC) is a 21st Century Conservation Service Corps accredited program that empowers young people through conservation, education, service, and jobs training. Participants engage in hands-on projects on public lands, coastal regions, and disaster areas.

While successfully educating, training, and producing the next generation of leaders in the field, TxCC engages young adults in conservation of the natural landscapes of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

 

Harvey Strike Teams

Harvey Strike Teams will consist of 4 Crew Members and 1 Crew Leader. These teams will work throughout the Houston metro area repairing low-income homes affected by Hurricane Harvey. The schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm, based out of our Houston office.

Crew Member Qualifications – Must Have
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Between the ages of 18-24
  • US Citizenship or lawful permanent US Resident
  • Ability to pass a National Service Criminal History Check
  • Commitment to completing entire term of service
  • Strong service ethic and desire to serve the community and the environment
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Willingness to work long, hard hours in all weather conditions

  • Between the ages of 21-28
  • 6 months relevant construction skills
    • Basic Carpentry Skills
    • Basic Safety Training
    • Demolition Experience
  • US Citizenship or lawful permanent US Resident
  • Ability to pass a National Service Criminal History Check
  • Commitment to completing entire term of service
  • Strong service ethic and desire to serve the community and the environment
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Willingness to work long, hard hours in all weather conditions
