HEAT Crew

The Texas Conservation Corps’ Houston Environmental Action Team (HEAT) is an AmeriCorps youth environmental program that focuses on local urban conservation and restoration projects; it is a full-time, 675 hour term of service for people aged 17-24. These crews work locally on a regular schedule, Monday- Friday. Typical projects include habitat restoration, trail construction and maintenance, park development and clean-up, and environmentally sustainable landscaping. A term as a crew member with Texas Conservation Corps is a challenging, yet rewarding experience that will ensure life-long memories and skills. We highly encourage you to apply if you are LGBTQ+, experiencing homelessness, or are involved with the criminal justice system. Crew Members serve a 5-month term, Crew Leaders serve an 11-month term.
