Participant Stories

The YouthBuild Program

American YouthWorks YouthBuild program, established 1997, serves young people ages 16-24 disconnected from school and work, and provides free access to resources, education and career pathways to increase socio-economic stability. Individualized support services are provided to help break down barriers.

Participants receive paid career training and industry certifications (no experience necessary) while earning their High School Diploma or GED.

Through the career training projects our partners provide, participants address areas of social inequities in their communities. Project partners have included City of Austin, Austin Community College, and Workforce Solutions Capital Area (Austin) and Rural Capital Area (Taylor).

The YouthBuild program is located in Austin and Taylor, Texas.

AmeriCorps positions in YouthBuild
American YouthWorks YouthBuild program has AmeriCorps positions available for high school/GED graduates, ages 18 and up, from across the country to serve full time AmeriCorps terms of service.
